What is Co-Active Healing? Back to top.
Co-Active Healing is a partnership between client and practitioner to work together in order to discover the most appropriate path to somatic balance and wellness.
What is NeuroMuscular Reprogramming®? Back to top.
NeuroMuscular Reprogramming® is an approach to structural bodywork that engages the motor control center in the brain to rewrite the motor programs governing coordinated movement. It quickly corrects the dysfunctional postural and movement patterns resulting from overuse and injury that are the source of mystifying chronic pain and degeneration in muscles and joints. It assists rapid and accurate healing of acute injuries.
NMR uses muscle testing to assess specific structural imbalances and the dysfunctional relationships within coordination patterns. Muscle testing expands proprioceptive feedback and cues the brain for reprogramming. It enables you to be very specific in your treatments, and to locate the most strategic place to work.
NMR can:
- Relieve pain; restore function and range of motion.
- Accelerate recovery from acute injuries.
- Resolve the persistent effects of chronic injury.
- Alleviate the symptoms of repetitive stress.
- Optimize athletic performance.
What is Muscle Testing? Back to top.
Stress and trauma block the brain/body connections that support effective communication, emotional balance, and physical coordination. Muscle testing assesses hese emotional, physical and mental conditions to illuminate problem areas and their sources.
What is a Typical Session like? Back to top.
There isn't really a "typical session" with Improoovements, since every person who comes in is different and each person is different each time they come in.
Scott spends a few moments discussing what areas are causing you discomfort, what has changed since your last visit and anything else that seems relevant or important to you at that time. Depending on the type of work needed, he may do a more physical assessment of your muscle condition, through gentle rocking, stroking, and/or kneading, or directly address the problem areas. Once the initial needs and problem spots have been addressed, other areas may come into focus. These may be addressed within your session or you and Scott may mutually agree to schedule a separate session to resolve further conditions.
